Axe Throwing Now At Kartland!

Yes, that’s right… we’ve added axe throwing to the fun here at Kartland Performance Indoor Raceway. Kartland is proud to team up with Bad Axe, the biggest name in this growing sport.   We know you’re going to love our new attraction and wanted to share a little of the history, benefits, and how we’re going to offer it at Kartland. Let’s get started!  

How Did This Turn Into a Big Deal?

  Like many unusual sports, axe throwing had an interesting beginning. Of course, its real origin goes back thousands of years, to cavemen clubbing their prey (and probably each other). Stone-age axes didn’t even have handles – those came later, were made of wood, and supported heads that were copper, bronze, iron, or steel.   In 2006, several friends were visiting the Toronto area and found themselves bored. Someone came up with the idea of taking turns throwing an axe at a stump, and they quickly realized just how cathartic it was. More people started joining in, and they came up with a point system. The new sport took off across North America and eventually the world, as leagues were born and standardized rules were created.   It’s pretty easy to understand the appeal. Physically throwing an object is a highly effective way to release stress, and even before this year, there was plenty of stress throughout life. You’re able to tune out everything else, have fun, and simply focus on trying to hit a target. Celebrities like Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Charles Barkley, and Hugh Jackman have all tried their hands at axe throwing!

  So what will axe throwing look like here by the Kartland go-kart tracks? First, pricing is all-inclusive whether you walk in or schedule a group ahead of time. We’re especially proud to offer our lowest group event rate to the amazing heroes that are firefighters, healthcare workers, police officers, and the military.   Looking to celebrate a birthday party or corporate event in a unique way? Want to make some memories at a bachelor or bachelorette party? We’ve got you covered for all of those! You’ll get a lane or lanes, depending on the size of your group.
